WHCLAB offers world class knowledge and analysis for the brewing and distilling industry. Our Lab uses next generation methods including genetic analysis to test everything from raw ingredients to Final pack. We can preform QC analysis on your final product to make sure it is in spec and shelf stable with no contamination. Microanalysis (qPCR/plating for wild yeast and bacteria)
Our Step One Plus qPCR system allows for the detection of the STA 1 gene (Diastaticus), HORA (Hop resistant lactobacillus) and genetic Brettanomyces identifiers to make sure your beer or yeast pitch contains none of these spoilers which can cause souring or over attenuation of your final product. All the QPCR analysis is also backed up with a suite of specialized agar plating for further identification and validation of results.

Colour (EBC)

Colour analysis allows brewers to ensure a consistent colour over multiple batches. as well as achieving the desired colour for your beer style. Colour (EBC) is performed with a spectrophotometer.

ABV/Calories/FG

Our Anton Parr Alcolyzer allows us to provide the most accurate ABV (%) for Beer, Cider, Whiskey, Whiskey wash, Spirits and Kombucha. Sample Size is 200ml. Analysis includes:

  • Calories (kcal/100ml)
  • Final Gravity (SG & Plato)

ABV Testing & Microanalysis
This package combines two of our most popular analysis. Alcohol by volume is measured using our Anton Parr Alcolyzer allowing us to provide the most accurate ABV alcohol (%) for Beer, Cider, Whiskey, Whiskey wash, Spirits with no sugar, and Kombucha. Additionally, Our micro analysis also allows for the detection of the beer spoilers.
